Hunters found on 8 August 1996 in Dümmerlohausen, district of Vechta, near the L853 the body of a male person lying near a VW Golf. The victim was shot. It is known that the victim had a criminal career, committing burglaries in North Germany. He lived in Hamburg. His last stay was in a hotel in the Alexanderstraße Oldenburg (Oldb.), where he probably was absconding. The red Golf was stolen previously in Bad Essen. At those times the crime case was not solved but by new analysis methods new hints came up.
